If
you are part of the leadership, has it
been your intention to design the current environment?
Or,
is a detailed plan of action, blueprint, or compass for
mastery, the missing tool needed for
crafting
the culture you envision?
Culture:
Every person, business, organization, and family has one. A
culture does not just happen. Its design, either deliberate
or by default, evolves from the values, attitudes, and
behaviors of the leaders and individuals within it. If
purposefully
crafted the culture can
cultivate, and refine the development of a profitable,
respectful entity. Without conscious crafting, it has a
greater chance of hindering, suppressing, or even destroying
those within it or the entire entity itself. The culture is
a matter of choice.
Today’s
organizations and businesses face many challenges. Economic
and consumer demands influence staffing needs and how those
needs are satisfied, whether it be in hiring, retaining, or
firing. Shareholder and political strains may influence
leaders into decisions and behaviors that do not foster a
favorable culture for employees or customers.
What
is your company
Culture?
Regardless of how your culture measures up, it is important
for today’s business leaders to understand: we have the
opportunity and responsibility to consciously craft our
business culture. It is not enough to communicate company
mission and vision statements. That is just the beginning.
We must “craft the culture.” It is our choice.
